Core Link will replace the existing core handling system for Paper Machine no. 1 and 2 with a new fully automatic system.
Installation and start up is scheduled to take place in June 2015 during Midsummer.
The delivery includes:
- Robot core-storage
- Core cutter
- Transport system to winder PM 1 with integrated core grooving at the infeed table
- Set cart loading system for PM 2
- Manual core cutter for re-cutting reusable cores to the rewinder.
The new system will be located at the same position as the existing 22 years old Core Link core system, which requires a very tight cooperation, in detail planning and layout optimization to fulfil all future requirements with operator safety and automation level with minimal shut down time.
The deep knowledge and wide experience in core handling of Core Link are appreciated by Sappi and they therefor expect that the new system will last for the next 20 years.
